Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) is a mobile-only feature that allows account holders to make a deposit from anywhere by taking a picture of the front and back of a check with a mobile device. This feature is currently available on iOS devices.

From the Bernstein Private Wealth mobile app on your iOS device, select “Transact” from the navigation menu, then select “Deposit a Check.” Before using this feature the first time, account holders need to accept the Terms of Use. After accepting the Terms of Use, follow the app’s four-step process:

  1. Enter the check amount,
  2. Select an account to make the deposit,
  3. Take a picture of the front and back of a check, and
  4. Review the deposit.

The Remote Deposit feature is available for most AllianceBernstein brokerage accounts. View eligible accounts in the account selection menu on the “New Check Deposit” screen.

The maximum mobile check deposit amount is $2,000,000. There are no limits on the number of checks you can deposit per day.

Generally, deposits submitted by the end of a business day and determined to be in good order will post to your account between 2–5 business days. Check deposits are not processed on weekends or New York Stock Exchange and bank holidays.

We will send you a notification that your deposit has been accepted and is under review. A member of our team will be in touch with you to verbally confirm the deposit details. When there is a status change, we will send an update.

New check deposits will appear under “Pending” on the Mobile Check Deposit screen. Deposits listed as “Processing” are under review. A status of “Cancelled” indicates an issue with your deposit. A member of our team will be in touch with you if a deposit is cancelled . Deposits that have been successfully credited will appear in the ‘Activity’ section of the Investments tab.

Write "deposited" and the deposit date on the back of this check. Keep it for 10 business days from the date deposited.

No, check photos are not stored in the Private Wealth app or on your mobile device.
