I Am Motivated to Be a Part of People’s Lives

I feel most motivated to help our clients and my team find success. As a manager, I am firmly committed to creating a collaborative, creative environment. My hope is that all employees feel challenged, valued and excited to build their career.

What has inspired you to stay at Bernstein for as long as you have?

My greatest joy comes from working with people that I enjoy and respect, while solving complex problems on behalf of others at our Washington, DC, office. Bernstein celebrates diversity of thought and encourages employees to take chances and try new approaches. I’ve found that I thrive in the fast-paced and dynamic atmosphere that is synonymous with the firm. I admire and celebrate the wonderful culture at Bernstein.

Tell me about an example of how you helped someone find purpose in their wealth.

My favorite experiences at Bernstein generally involve my work with young people who are thinking about the meaning of wealth for the first time. Some examples of how I help this demographic: sitting side by side with a client’s children and showing them how to navigate their own personal finances, developing our associates’ ability to speak about the markets—or helping my own family and friends figure out when, and how, to become investors themselves. Whether it is inside or outside of the firm, I find it incredibly rewarding to help people find the tools to feel more empowered in their financial future.

Who has been the most influential person in your life?

My father, without a doubt, has been the most impactful person in my life.

Some of my favorite childhood memories are of my dad clipping newspaper articles about personal finance. He would quiz my siblings and me on the content within and give us small cash prizes if we got the answer right! Clearly, this sparked an interest in finance and money management at a young age. Even still, many years later, not a week goes by that I don’t receive a finance-related podcast or blog recommendation from him. He has always been incredibly supportive of my career and interest in personal finance. Today, as my father tells everyone, he is in awe of his three daughters and all that we have achieved. I credit our personal and professional success to the independence he instilled in us from day one. I am incredibly grateful for this wonderful support system, and hope to provide that same encouraging environment to my team at Bernstein.
