What has inspired you to stay at Bernstein for as long as you have?
The people. You’ve heard the idea that your colleagues are not your friends, and while that might be true for many people, I’m lucky enough to work with some of the brightest and most dedicated professionals in this industry, who I now consider friends. They are talented people who care about the work—together, we are always striving to improve. It’s made for great collaboration and unexpected friendships as we learn to navigate the complexities of markets and the evolution of this industry together.
What is the most fulfilling aspect of being an SIS to your clients?
I enjoy solving problems. In my role, I have the privilege of working closely with a team of experts in a variety of areas to try to solve some of our clients’ most complex problems. I find the process of brainstorming potential solutions, evaluating their feasibility and effectiveness, and choosing the best course of action not just professionally rewarding, but also fun! Thinking creatively about ways to apply our research to optimize client outcomes feeds my insatiable curiosity.
How have your values and personal background specifically positioned you to work with your clients?
To me, integrity means doing the right thing even when it is difficult. It means putting the needs of our clients first. I love working at a firm that embraces that culture of integrity, where dissent is interpreted as a sign of commitment to quality. People voice their views, and respectful debate improves decisions and client outcomes.
