What inspired you to join Bernstein?
I joined Bernstein after beginning my financial career at an institutional asset manager, where Bernstein’s research was regularly relied upon to inform investment decisions. While the rigor and depth of that research initially stood out, it was Bernstein’s long‑term, client‑centric advisory philosophy that ultimately drew me in.
Executives and business owners often face pivotal moments—career transitions, liquidity events, governance decisions, and generational planning—that extend well beyond portfolio construction. Bernstein’s approach is built around understanding the entire financial ecosystem: balance sheet complexity, tax considerations, family dynamics, and long‑term objectives. Clients consistently describe Bernstein’s culture as thoughtful, principled, and deeply aligned with their long‑term interests—a reputation earned through diligence, collaboration, and integrity.
What differentiates you from other advisors?
My professional background is distinct from many of my peers. Before entering the investment world, I spent several years working as a structural engineer, a discipline rooted in analyzing complex systems, identifying critical variables, and evaluating outcomes under stress. I bring that same analytical and methodical mindset to advising clients with sophisticated financial lives.
I help clients integrate investment management, asset allocation, risk management, and planning considerations into a cohesive strategy—particularly when navigating liquidity events, concentrated wealth, equity compensation, or multigenerational goals. I approach each relationship as a long‑term partnership.
I remain a lifelong student of the capital markets, evolving regulatory and tax considerations, and Bernstein’s proprietary research, while maintaining the flexibility required to adapt as markets change and clients’ lives evolve. This balance of discipline and adaptability is especially important for families managing complexity across generations.
What passions do you pursue outside of work?
Most importantly, my wife and I have two boys, and I enjoy watching them grow and develop. Parenting reinforces the importance of clear communication—distilling complex ideas into their most understandable form—a skill that carries directly into my work with clients. It also encourages reflection on the values and principles we hope to pass on, both as parents and as stewards of family wealth.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family on the water along the coast of Maine or Cape Cod, as well as sharing a round of golf with clients and friends.
