What inspired you to join Bernstein?

I love what I do, and I love where I do it. Candidly, I wish that I had found Bernstein sooner —but my previous experiences enable me to bring a differentiated perspective to the table.

After spending nearly a decade in banking, I sought out a new role that was philosophically aligned with who I am and how I’d like to serve others. Having personally witnessed the long-term effects of who you have in your corner as a trusted advisor, I am beyond grateful to have found a home at Bernstein.

Our clients and partners have great confidence knowing that every decision we make is backed by a fundamental, industry-renowned research process—whether it is a specific investment strategy or a complex planning analysis. In today’s environment, information is everything. Working for one of the largest independent research firms on the globe, we provide that informational advantage that empowers those we work with to have conviction in our guidance.

What types of clients do you work with?

My clients are private business owners, entrepreneurs and uniquely successful families. The biggest common thread among those I have the privilege to serve is complexity—usually to a level that extends well beyond money management. This complexity mandates a deep and meaningful relationship with my clients, where I tend to be called upon in many different capacities. Perhaps a founder is looking to make a transition and needs to quantify how different sale structures could impact an optimal outcome for their next chapter of life. Or maybe a family is looking to not only prepare the next generation to inherit a significant amount of wealth, but also to instill personal values that they’d like to carry on once they’re gone. I am in their corner and guide them through some of these challenges and beyond. Together, we partner on executing the vision for their business, family and legacy.

What differentiates you from other advisors?

For far too long, the client-advisor relationship in our industry has been programmed to start with the wrong questions on both sides of the table—questions that are technical in nature and could be answered through any templated questionnaire.

I believe any good relationship between a client and advisor should be built on a deep understanding of who each person is, what values are critical to them and what drives their decision-making. It is disingenuous not to start that way, as I believe you cannot deliver an optimal outcome for a client without first understanding this foundation—these are the roots for any wealth, investment and business planning discussion.
