Why did you choose Bernstein to grow your career?
Prior to joining Bernstein, I built my career in the oil and gas industry, where I led financial planning for upstream oil and gas companies. I managed multibillion-dollar budgets and intricate financial models, and the C-suite had my number on speed dial. The work was complex—but I realized something was missing: connection. I wasn’t helping people.
A serendipitous meeting on a golf course introduced me to Bernstein, where I realized I could use my corporate finance background to help individuals and families manage their own financial complexity. What drew me in was not only the firm’s commitment to deep, independent research—the very foundation of Bernstein’s DNA—but also its culture of lifelong learning and collaboration. Here, I’ve found the perfect balance between intellectual rigor and personal purpose: using financial insight to make a meaningful difference in my client’s lives.
Tell me about the types of clients you work with.
I work with successful individuals and families who have achieved significant wealth and face the complexities that accompany it. Some have built wealth over generations, while others are navigating newfound success following a liquidity event, such as the sale of their business. Most have built up their wealth over time and are searching for a holistic advisor to help them answer the question, “What am I missing?” Many of my clients are business owners and corporate executives who value trusted, long-term partnerships.
What passions do you pursue outside of work?
Outside of work, I’m passionate about golf, travel and exploring all the authentic cuisine Houston has to offer. Golf, in particular, combines two things I love most—a challenge and competition.
As Bobby Jones said, “Golf is the closest game to the game we call life. You get bad breaks from good shots; you get good breaks from bad shots—but you have to play the ball where it lies.” I volunteer every April at the Masters, where I get to experience the game at its finest and connect with fellow enthusiasts from around the world.
Whether I’m on the course, traveling to a beautiful new destination, or spending time with my family, friends and goldendoodle, I’m happiest outdoors—soaking in nature, meeting new people and enjoying the moments in between.
