Why did you choose Bernstein to grow your career?
I joined Bernstein because of its storied history as a leading research firm and a culture of continuous improvement. As a lifelong learner, having the opportunity to partner with professionals who are on the cutting edge of investment strategies has been a dream. While I love both “geeking out” with my talented colleagues and studying on my own, I know I can always focus on my clients and their needs first, because I can rely on our deep bench of experts to help tailor solutions in alignment with clients’ objectives and principles. That commitment has helped our clients move past, “Will I be okay financially?” to the more exciting, “What am I missing?” We thrive on helping clients discover what is possible.
What is the most fulfilling aspect of being an advisor to your clients?
The relationship I have with my clients is the most fulfilling part of my role as an advisor. Many of my clients are owners and executives who built successful companies. They often possess a combination of intellectual curiosity, principled vision and relentless drive, which is why they connect so well with our team. It is a joy to both learn from them and assist them--whether that means helping them uncover “What’s next?” following a business exit, reduce stress in navigating their financial picture in retirement, or add significant value through thoughtful investment, estate, and tax planning.
What passions do you pursue outside of work?
Outside the office, I cherish spending time with my wife and our young daughter. We are actively involved in ministries at our local church and enjoy playing golf, tennis and pickleball together as a family. As a lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan, you’ll often find me riding the emotional rollercoaster of the NFL season—oscillating between elation and disappointment—all with the hopeful dream of witnessing a Super Bowl victory in my lifetime.
