What has inspired you to stay at Bernstein for as long as you have?
My reason for staying at Bernstein is simple. Everyone at Bernstein has a singular focus to work together in order to create the best possible outcomes for our clients.
I played baseball in my formative years. The concept of functioning as a team to produce winning results was instilled in me from a very early age. This collaborative mentality and excellent communication and respect amongst team members are also ingrained in the Bernstein culture. Clients benefit from them every single day. As an athlete, I’m particularly and immensely proud to represent a firm that has teamwork at its core. Teamwork is definitive of who Bernstein is.
What is the most fulfilling aspect of being an advisor to your clients?
Partnering with my clients to solve problems and achieve their goals, financial or otherwise, is the reason I love what I do. The structure of our firm, which is set up to have groups of skilled professionals in charge of investment research, portfolio management and analytical planning, allows me to focus 100% of my time on my clients. By channeling my energy in one direction, I can ensure that my team and I are providing value and advice that is unique to each person we work with.
If you didn’t work for Bernstein, what else would you be doing?
If I weren’t a Bernstein advisor, I would hopefully play bass guitar in a world-renowned rock band—or at least a reputable one! I also wouldn’t mind acting as a consultant to local restaurants and bars helping to curate their cocktail programs. Music has served as a creative outlet for most of my life. Indulging in good food and drinks is my favorite way to bring friends and loved ones together. So, I’d likely pursue either of those passions. Or maybe both, if I were lucky enough to consult at a live music venue with a bar and grill!
