Why did you choose Bernstein to grow your career?
The people. At Bernstein, I have the opportunity to work alongside incredibly smart, collaborative professionals who are deeply committed to helping clients succeed over the long term. That environment, combined with Bernstein’s research and planning capabilities, allows me to continue growing as an advisor while delivering thoughtful, strategic guidance to clients and their families.
How have your values and personal background specifically positioned you to work with your clients?
My background and upbringing have absolutely shaped how I approach my role as an advisor. I grew up in Minnesota as the middle of three boys in a close-knit, competitive family. My parents came from very modest beginnings, my dad from the south side of Chicago and my mom from rural Minnesota. They both worked incredibly hard to create opportunities for our family.
They taught me that financial success isn’t just about what you earn, but how thoughtfully you plan, protect and use it to take care of the people you love. That perspective continues to guide the way I work with clients today.
If you didn’t work for Bernstein, what else would you be doing?
I’d be working in film as a music supervisor. Having been raised in a musical family, I grew up playing multiple instruments and spent over a decade as the drummer in a rock band. Getting paid to create the perfect soundtrack for a great film sounds like a pretty good gig to me!
