What inspired you to join Bernstein?
I joined Bernstein because it enables me to meet clients exactly where they are in life. Whether they are planning for retirement, navigating a divorce, selling a business, managing the complexities of multigenerational wealth or operating within a family office structure, I have the resources and support to help them move forward with clarity and confidence.
What truly sets Bernstein apart is our team-based approach and the depth of talent across the firm. We are built to handle complexity, bringing together some of the most thoughtful and sophisticated professionals in the industry to deliver tailored solutions, including the nuanced needs of family offices and ultrahigh-net-worth families. That foundation gives me complete confidence in telling clients they are working with a firm deeply committed to their best interests and focused on delivering meaningful long-term outcomes.
How have your values and personal background uniquely positioned you to work with your clients?
I was raised in a working-class family where the values of hard work, strong relationships and family were foundational. My background is diverse, with roots in Spain, Portugal and Puerto Rico, and I grew up surrounded by family members who built businesses and often worked multiple jobs to create opportunity. That experience gave me a deep appreciation for resilience, discipline and long-term thinking.
My mother has been the most influential person in my life. She emphasized the importance of education and perseverance, and being the first in my family to graduate from college remains a point of pride and ongoing motivation. My wife and her family share a similar story, with roots in the Middle East where adversity and hard work are part of everyday life.
Those experiences allow me to connect meaningfully with the individuals and families I serve through a genuine understanding of the personal, cultural and financial dynamics that shape their decisions.
What passions do you pursue outside of work?
My wife and I share a passion for travel and exploring new cultures. Living in Florida offers the added benefit of being able to enjoy world-class beaches and destinations right in our backyard, and we take full advantage of that. Whether it is discovering a new place abroad or spending time along the coast, we value experiences that broaden our perspective and allow us to recharge.
I am also deeply committed to education and continuous learning. I regularly attend academic and business conferences, and in 2020 I pursued continued studies at Harvard Business School, where I have since built strong relationships within the community and remain actively involved in their annual conferences.
Giving back is equally important to me. I mentor students at the University of South Florida and serve on several boards connected to the university and broader community. These roles allow me to stay engaged, support the next generation and contribute to organizations that are making a meaningful impact.
