A well-designed strategy can serve as the difference between success and failure.

One of my favorite quotes comes from Founding Father Benjamin Franklin: “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” These words of wisdom serve as a reminder to me that knowledge is power, which is especially important in the investment management business. Investment management isn’t just about the application of knowledge across our particular universe. I believe it is equally as important that we educate and partner with our clients to help them unpack the unique purpose and meaning of their wealth: why it exists in their lives.

What has inspired you to stay at Bernstein as long as you have?

It’s hard to believe sometimes that it has been over 20 years since I joined Bernstein originally, as an associate in our Los Angeles office. Over the last two decades, I’ve lived and worked in multiple cities, which enabled my business to grow and evolve. Miami, where I am currently based, is a global metropolis that gives me the opportunity to utilize the firm’s innovative, global platform. I am able to guide and provide the highest quality investments for the global families I work with because I am based here.

While there are a multitude of reasons why I choose to live and work in Miami, if I had to boil it down to one main reason, I would say it is because of the people. Our global expertise and experience, coupled with the unique division of resources here, gives me the utmost confidence that Bernstein remains focused on what matters most: our clients’ financial well-being.

If you didn’t work at Bernstein, what else would you be doing?

I’ve always had a love of history and economics. If not for Bernstein, I like to think I would’ve continued my education and focused on studying the history of great past civilizations; their economic successes and failures. Who knows? Maybe I could’ve been an economics professor as well. We all know the saying, “If we fail to learn from our past, we are bound to repeat it.”

How have your values and personal background uniquely positioned you to work with your clients?

I am the son of immigrants. Growing up with parents whose childhood consisted of poverty and war shapes the way I look at the world. The melding of their cultures helped me understand, even as a child, that there are many ways to think, act, respond, and solve problems. They also instilled in me the importance of hard work, a good education, and kindness. Having a father in the financial industry, I was taught to listen to the pulse of the capital markets, value the dollar, and invest in my future. As my mentor, he taught me the importance of in-depth research, listening carefully to your clients’ needs, and how a well-designed strategy can serve as the difference between success and failure.

Today, my practice focuses on successful entrepreneurs, business owners, and their families who reside around the world. I bring a global perspective and passion for the financial industry to every client situation and strive to build a partnership based on hard work, integrity, and trust.
