What inspired you to join Bernstein?
Bernstein allows me the opportunity to be of service in aligning my clients’ capital with their values. I want my clients to be able to achieve their dreams. From my experience with other firms, I know that Bernstein has unparalleled integrity. Our company is also focused on doing business with zero conflicts of interest. By leveraging our resources, I am able to engineer smart solutions to complex issues, educate multiple generations of families and help my clients protect, grow and pass on their wealth. Similar to myself, Bernstein cares about people rather than transactions. I am deeply committed to the firm and my clients.
Share one of your most memorable professional accomplishments with us.
I am a giver, learner, active listener and a perfectionist. These are qualities I’ve honed throughout my 25-year+ global finance career. I pride myself on staying highly alert as this allows me to challenge conventional wisdom and biases. Ultimately, I question everything in order to protect my clients. As I know this isn’t the case for everyone, I am beyond thankful that my job is my passion. Yet, I am aware of the immense responsibility of my job, which is why I am deeply devoted to my clients. In my career, I’ve successfully navigated many global crises and acquired eight years of institutional experience. Therefore, I understand risk from many different angles. In addition, I’ve traveled to 50 different countries and bring a diverse perspective to my areas of expertise—global liquid and illiquid assets. The bottom line is, aside from bringing a unique background to the table, I will give my clients all of the time they need—because I care.
Which personal accomplishment makes you proudest?
My purpose in life is to be of service. When it comes to the community that I live in, I am a passionate advocate for financial literacy and mental health awareness. Two particular demographics that are dear to my heart, and that I actively support, are at-risk youth and low-wealth communities in Miami, Florida, where I live and around the world. It was my desire to contribute to communities beyond my own backdoor that inspired two international, and hands-on, philanthropic experiences across 15 emerging market economies. During this extensive experience, my team and I gave back in a way that I will always be proud of by generating projects, advising governments, partnering with universities, leading people and defying the odds.
