What inspired you to join Bernstein?

After spending 20 years in the global gem and jewelry industry, I re-joined Bernstein to help spearhead the firm’s growth in the Carolinas. 

While we have had loyal clients in the region for years, Bernstein identified increased demand for its expertise in offering personalized wealth management solutions to sophisticated investors. Bernstein made a commitment to establish a local presence based in Charlotte, which is vital to not only attracting new clients, but to continuing the exceptional service we offer to our existing relationships.

As a long-time believer in financial transparency, honesty and conflict-free advice—all pillars of Bernstein’s philosophy—my return to the firm has been a seamless transition. I’m honored to be a part of this exciting new chapter in Bernstein’s rich history.

For me, understanding a client’s foundational values and family dynamics are the cornerstones to establishing a meaningful relationship. I pride myself in connecting with all family members regardless of age, financial knowledge, or stage of life. Since no two situations are the same, deep discovery is critical. By diligently investing my time, I uncover what truly motivates my clients. That investment of time puts me in the best position to offer targeted advice, earn their trust, and craft creative solutions that are rooted in sound judgement. My clients recognize I genuinely care about their lives and have a sense of responsibility in the advice I offer. They entrust me to be a fiduciary of both their wealth and legacy.

What kind of experience do you offer to your clients?

Empathy, inclusion, and education are the hallmarks of my approach.

Many clients are still working and actively accumulating capital. They closely identify with the companies they have built over decades. Some are interested in exploring options for the future stewardship of these businesses, either within the family or outside of it. Others are well known and respected civic leaders who feel an obligation to enhance their communities. This sense of dedication is an essential element of their philanthropic involvement. Bernstein provides me with the resources, tools and talent to help my clients maximize their giving goals.

I also have experience working with blended households, family law, special-needs children and elder care. There is no part of the life cycle I cannot address, and I often work in concert with other external professionals on a highly confidential basis.

Having an eye toward the future, I encourage financial literacy to build awareness of affluence with younger family members.
