Art + Science of Successful Investment Planning

My objective is to provide families and professionals with peace of mind and financial success, so they can focus on what truly fulfills them. AB is the perfect platform for me to bring happiness, security and success to those I care deeply about.

What has inspired you to stay at Bernstein for as long as you have?

Upon joining AllianceBernstein in 2011, I recognized that the firm was a perfect fit for many reasons. The elements that resonated with my own values included our fiduciary alignment with clients, highly regarded thought leadership, expertise in responsible investing and the fact that we live and breathe our “clients-first” approach. AB provides the best platform to enable my clients to enjoy their lives, achieve their goals and create a unique legacy. With that as a backdrop, I was thrilled to join the team that I viewed as the pinnacle of investment management. Now, having worked in several different roles at the firm, I’ve found my career home as an advisor in partnership with my good friend and colleague Eric Steinmiller. A strong values system and integrity are at the center of our client relationships, and we care for the financial well-being of clients and their families as if they were our own.

What kind of experience do you offer to your clients?

My role as a Bernstein advisor is at the intersection of two things I enjoy: building meaningful relationships and math-based critical thinking. As such, I frequently talk with clients about the art and science of successful investment planning. AB is a powerful, well-oiled machine when it comes to the science part. Our firm offers world-class financial planning, thoughtful portfolio engineering and research-based investment management. The art side of successful investment planning is less precise but equally as important. It is about helping to make clients’ dreams a reality by understanding their priorities, objectives and values. This is particularly important for our multigenerational clients who have unique complexities and family dynamics. Eric and I are empathetic listeners who use the information we glean to carefully customize advice and portfolio implementation. Our ultimate objective is to provide clients with peace of mind and confidence in their financial success.

If you didn’t work for Bernstein, what else would you be doing?

I enjoy quality time with my wonderful wife Kristen and our two awesome daughters at every opportunity. My family is a constant source of happiness in my life, and I learn a great deal from them every day. My other family members and friends are also very important to me, and we have fun together playing golf, soccer, boating, being in the outdoors and watching sports—particularly my beloved Liverpool Football Club and New Orleans Saints. In general, I try to view every situation as an opportunity to enjoy time with those close to me and build relationships with my clients, friends and family.
