Major Financial Transactions Are When We Come In

I help people with significant wealth work through the complex issues they face, including preserving and growing their wealth, and ultimately ensuring the people and causes most important to them receive their wealth at the proper time.

What has inspired you to stay at Bernstein for as long as you have?

I have remained at Bernstein for a long time because of how the firm prioritizes clients’ interests. I firmly believe that Bernstein strikes the perfect balance between being a global fiduciary, with incredible resources to marshal on behalf of clients, and providing the highest levels of personalized service akin to a boutique firm. The quality and camaraderie of my colleagues also makes Bernstein a great place to work.

Tell me about the types of clients you work with.

My practice focuses on closely held business owners and families with multigenerational wealth. My team and I are typically introduced to our clients by a trusted advisor when there is some type of major financial transaction; for example, the sale of a business or wealth transfer to the next generation. In addition to bringing to bear our team of internal planning resources, we can also help assemble a team of key financial professionals around the client as needed, including investment bankers, corporate attorneys, CPAs and trust and estate attorneys. Clients appreciate the teamwork, planning and execution that go into a successful transaction. Our ability to add value in these critical areas helps build trust and leads to lasting partnerships.

What passions do you pursue outside of work?

My wife and I have three sons who are heavily involved in academics and athletics. I had the opportunity to coach many of my sons’ sports teams when they were younger, including football and basketball. Coaching my children brought me closer to them, which made the experience enriching. As a couple, my wife and I enjoy watching our children compete and continue to grow as young people. We like to travel together as a family to experience and explore different parts of the country. So far, as a unit, we have visited twenty-seven different states and Canada. We also like to spend time at home with our two labrador retrievers.
